The are few things as satisfying as creating a beautiful, crisp and individual loaf of bread for yourself. So whether you have tried before and been disappointed with the results or are starting from scratch, this is the bread making course for you.
You will explore the influences of different flours, yeasts and techniques, understand a bit of the chemistry, physics and biology (don’t worry, it isn’t as bad as it sounds!) and you will create a variety of different breads yourself - from a basic white tin loaf, to natural sourdough and focaccia, through to naans and brioche.
To help you recover from your day’s kneading exertions, dinner in the evening will be centred on your own, handmade pizzas. Leave with a folder of notes, recipes and your own homemade bread.
The course is an intimate event, with a maximum of six people, and is held in The Barn, a beautiful stone building across from the house.
Your tutor is Ian, resident chef and proprietor, who brings you a heartfelt passion, interest in and knowledge of food, and in particular, bread.
